This videographer asked ‘how to switch from small gigs to bigger projects’

Wew.

Sometimes a coaching journey turns out completely different than expected.

I am often amazed by what comes out when we work in-depth on certain pain points.

Take videographer Gertjan.

His initial ask was: I want to switch from many small assignments to larger videography projects.

The reason? He noticed that larger projects are way more interesting for him, both budget-wise and creativity-wise. Also: small assignments didn’t give him the job satisfaction he needs.

So we started talking and working on that.

And by doing some in-depth exercises on defining his drive and goals and meaning, all of a sudden Gertjan realized he had a dream project simmering inside. Something he wanted to do forever.

Outcome:

  • he stopped taking on small jobs - saying ‘no’ often enriches your life!

  • he took on a 2-days/week assignment at an agency for a steady & good income, because …

  • he got started with his passion project, which is still a secret, but I am super excited about it.

So not only did he get rid of the small assignments that caused him a lot of hassle and frustration. He’s also way happier as a creative, because he is making his dream project come true as we speak!

And me? I felt privileged that I could watch this huge business transformation from up close. Thank you so much, Gertjan - also for leaving a great review on Google.
