Maïté Denolf
Product designer
Another talented designer in the community of I support creatives, is Maité Denolf (@maitedenolf). An alumnus of @designacademyeindhoven.
At the start, Maïté already had a lot of insights. Where she falls short and what she wanted to achieve during our coaching trajectory. With Milan Design Week in sight, a tight schedule was set up to finish her project Reflective Compass on a large scale.
During our collaboration, she moved from Antwerp to Oostende and set up her own studio. A separate space was essential so that she could take her own work more as a priority.
There was no fixed pattern in her design schedule or process yet. By implementing this, she imposed a minimum number of hours to work for herself, in addition to her full-time job.
Her focus and mindset have shifted. She used to get customised assignments or opportunities, but that focus is gone. She wants to produce more projects.
I have already seen a glimpse of one of her new projects. Keep an eye on this designer 😉.
For her, the WhatsApp messages between sessions were definitely a plus!
I support: setting up a fixed weekly schedule, determining the design process, setting priorities, learning to say no, completing projects to the end, gaining insight into the potential of her projects.
