Eva Lynen
Visual artist & illustrator
Eva (@eva.lynen) is an illustrator ánd an artist. She prefers to describe herself that way. She absorbs a lot, the beauty of everyday things, and filters it in her own way.
To challenge her on how she would pitch with pride, we explored how she can tell her unique story and where her ambitions lie.
About her own business, she told me: "Everything is happening quite organically, yet I would like to figure out how to grow my business.” So, I asked her, what does growth mean to you? It meant:
➕ new and larger clients
➕ expanding her network
➕ exhibit
➕ (financial) freedom
➕ exploring a structural work pattern
Bringing structure to her workday and schedule was tackled during the 1st session. "It feels good, like a kind of relief", she told me during session 2. Because she is often busy with many different things, we clustered tasks.
She gained more insight into new clients by using the business canvas model. Once she had written this out, Eva started looking for those kinds of clients that suited her and approached them.
What I have seen evolve the most in our trajectory, is her entrepreneurial side. She developed a different way of thinking. The way in which Eva now negotiates with clients has become so much stronger. She also experiences this herself: "I know what my pitfalls are, but I have more control of myself. I act more directly.
It was fantastic to be able to coach a young talent and to see her flourish. She often told me in detail how her creation process works. What I learned is how complex a piece of art is and how many layers we often overlook.
