Bieke Buckinx
Painter
Bieke (@biekebuckinx) became a full-time painter in 2020, and one of the first things we worked on was something surprisingly practical: writing and rehearsing an elevator pitch. Being able to explain, on the spot, who she is and what she does mattered enormously to her — that's often where real confidence starts.
She'd already done a lot of groundwork before we began, including organizing her own exhibition. What she needed wasn't a plan built from scratch, but a second, objective pair of eyes — someone to help her make the decisions she'd otherwise sit on.
When things didn't go as planned, I helped her find the more constructive way to look at it. And when something stayed unresolved for too long, I wasn't afraid to give her a nudge — or, let's be honest, the occasional kick — to prioritize based on what actually mattered to her.
Bieke wanted a professional sounding board: objective, but genuinely invested. That's exactly the role I stepped into — reviewing her choices, giving honest feedback, and helping her keep moving toward the next level of her artist career.
"Katrijn and I clicked from minute 1. You feel that she has a positive but realistic outlook on life, and that is exactly what I needed... She was a perfect & objective sounding board a.k.a. blissful coach!" — Bieke Buckinx
Since our trajectory ended, I've stayed close — I've seen her grow with every exhibition, and she still drops in every now and then for a single session whenever she needs one. I've been honored to support her through both the good times and the harder ones, and Bieke has grown into one of the most recognized painters in her scene. I hope we get to keep watching each other grow for a long time to come.
