Getting a coach: too woolly and floaty?

Hi you,

Does it start itching [quite heavily] when you read the offer of some coaches? To me it does. It gives me the grues. Most of their services sound vague.

That doesn’t mean those are bad coaches. Their vibe just isn’t my vibe. And that’s perfectly fine.

You know. With coaches it’s exactly like with artists: they all work differently, have their own styles and approaches. You like some, you fanatically follow them, and you wholeheartedly dislike others.

Like that one client I had. We stopped our coaching trajectory midway because my style and methodology as a coach weren't completely her cup of tea. And I totally respected that. We need to be on the same line, so that you can grow as a confident creative professional.

Here’s some feedback I got lately — and it gave me the YES feeling all over.

  • ‘I felt hugely appreciated as a person, there was room for humour, which is very important to me.’

and there was more

  • ‘Just like me, you’re self-employed, which made working together on my business very relatable. I felt we are on the same level — you’re not some kind of business guru, ‘cause that’s the last thing I would’ve wanted. It would’ve felt intimidating.’

and then there was this

  • ‘I was very skeptical about hiring a business coach. But now my trajectory is finished, I finally understand why people say that coaching can change your life.’

Boom!
There I got them in my inbox — words from a client. And all the reasons why I got started coaching creative entrepreneurs and freelancers. To change their life, to allow them to live their creative life to the fullest.

So. My coaching is not for the ones who look for spiritual guidance.
My coaching is there to bring a clear view.
It is meant to bring structure into a wild bunch of ideas.
It offers something you can keep on using for the rest of your life.

My style is direct, honest and sometimes confronting. But always full of respect, admiration and with the higher aim to honour and professionalise your creative business.

Ok, that was a really long way of saying:
No, not only the woozy, woolly, floaty types who own dream catchers hire a coach.

Also, down-to-earth people who want to get a grip on a certain project or on their business processes to get a massive gain by working with a business coach.

And now I can as well be bold and do something I never did before in this newsletter: I add a button with ‘book an intro talk’. So that you can simply click it if all of the above feels very relatable & you feel like: I want this.

In that talk, we explore if a coaching trajectory could be useful for you. You get to know my style and approach. And you can decide afterwards if we get started with a coaching traject or not.

Namaste - just kidding
